How bingo can make your usual makeup sessions more interesting and fun
Last year, online clothing retailer BooHoo.com introduced a rather interesting variant of bingo. The game, called “wardrobe bingo,” requires players to group together five items each of tops, bottoms, footwear, and accessories. Each item shall be numbered from 1 to 5 in their respective clothing categories, after which numbers will be drawn at random to create some truly interesting – and occasionally, perfect – mix-and-match combinations.
Here’s the thing about bingo: It lends itself quite well to modifications, so taking a cue from the above variant of the game, cosmetics aficionados might want to try out makeup bingo. In place of the aforementioned clothing groups, the basic categories would be eye shadows, blushes, lipstick shades, and contours (feel free to add more categories if you’re feeling adventurous). Needless to say, some combinations might turn out to be disastrous; probably even more so than clashing combos from wardrobe bingo. That said, this could be where your creativity could come in. If you’re able to come up with something that works by adjusting shade levels and prominence, then give yourself a pat in the back.
There are many other variants of bingo that you could dabble in. For one, there’s coffee shop bingo that uses cards whose cells are filled with sights not uncommon in your average Starbucks such as “person with horn-rimmed Ray-Bans,” “person working on screenplay with laptop,” “person getting annoyed at barista,” and others. There’s also music bingo, which substitutes bingo balls with song clips, and numbers on bingo cards with song titles or artist names.
Bingo is all about fostering a fun atmosphere; a defining attribute of the game that’s become one of its main selling points. Online gaming site FoxyBingo’s commercials alone show as much, with its mascot Foxy always getting the party started wherever he ends up. More to the point, the company really does hold party-tastic special events such as the Foxy Bingo Cruise and the VIP Super League Party.
More than any other game, bingo focuses more on the social aspect rather than on the competitive. As for all these modifications to the basic game, they serve only one purpose: to further increase the fun.
