I just came back from spending New Year in Hong Kong. It was a blast to be there with my relatives. The shopping was a joy too because there were so many sales. Hong Kong doesn’t have Sephora anymore but we can still get our makeup fix from SaSa, Bounjour, Colourmix, Watsons, Faces, department stores and the boutiques of the makeup brand.
L to R: Dr. Jart+ Black Label BB Cream, Cyber Colors Zero Pore Primer, 2 Nicole nail polish, kawaii Rococo design compact mirror, BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream which came with Perfect Calm Cream and Perfect Calm Toner.
Assorted facial masks. I’ll have a giveaway for 1 box here in Lovely Morticia!
Different color hair dyes
L to R: Platinum Colloid Mask by some Japanese brand I couldn’t read, Hello Kitty Sexy Mask, Neutrogena Pore Refining Mask, and Oslee Rosehip BB Cream. All of these I bought from Mannings at the airport while waiting for our return flight.
This is something off my wish list! Shu Uemura’s “Burning In Water Palette” from the Wong Kar Wai collection. Rustan’s sells this palette for almost P5,000 but I got it for almost half the price from Shu Uemura in Ocean Terminal. Ha! Take that, Rustan’s!
I have other loots but they’re not beauty-related so no need to post them here. What beauty items did you get over the holidays? I want to know!

I’m a sucker for good packaging and I got suckered into buying DuWop Isla Sirena Rotating Map Palette . Good thing it’s not very expensive. While doing the swatches, I have to press my finger hard on the eyeshadows , otherwise you won’t see anything in the photo. The eyeshadows aren’t very pigmented which is a big disappointment.

My orders from US have arrived (it takes oh so long!). These are DuWop’s Isla Sirena palette (I didn’t know it was so big), Illamasqua Sangers lipstick, Illamasqua Baptiste nail polish, Illamasqua eye shadows in Fatal and Sadist. Not pictured is the Borghese professional makeup brush set.
I was at Shangri-la Rustan’s this afternoon with my mom. She was browsing for fragrances and almost had me convinced to got another bottle of Juicy Couture perfume. Thank goodness I glanced at the next counter and my eyes fell on familiar-looking packagings. An electric current ran through my body as I realized that I was looking at bottles of Juliette Has A Gun, a perfume line I was pining for. I didn’t even know how they smelled but the packaging and titles killed me.
I immediately went to that counter and asked for a smell. There were only 2 scents: Lady Vengeance and Miss Charming. The guy told me that they’re selling it for a discounted price because they’re about to pull out the brand from Rustan’s. I think it’s because it’s not selling well. Boo! From P3,000 Rustan’s is now selling a 100 ml eau de parfum for P1,950. You bet I was thrilled!
I sprayed each scent on separate wrists to know which scent suits me better. I decided on the more masculine Lady Vengeance. The scent is distinct and unique. Miss Charming is also good but quite forgettable. I have a bottle of perfume which smells similar to it but I don’t remember what perfume it is. Still, I might stock up on Juliette Has A Gun perfumes before Rustan’s take them off the shelves.
Bwahahaha I own you!
I went to Rustan’s Shangri-Mall yesterday to buy my sister a present (and get my nails done at Nail Spa) for her birthday. When I got to MAC cosmetics, I saw the standees for the Tartan Tale Holiday 2010 collection being prepared. They were still empty so I asked when they will start carrying them. The lady said it’ll be sometime this week so I gave her my number so she can contact me. I know how fast those limited editions get eaten up by the cosmetics-hungry public. I was also going to get myself a Fluidline eyeliner but as I was looking around, I gasped in delight because there were several boxes of the Tartan Tale hidden in the back shelf. I smooth-talked them into letting me buy one so now I’m the happy owner of this beauty!
This set is called the Noble Knights Lash & Line Kit. It comes with Teal pigment, Zoom Lash and Fluidline. Jackpot!
